Updates and fixes

  • Launched a new page for publishers and studios to learn more about AbleToPlay.
  • Developed and bug-tested over 17,000+ new lines of code!
  • Deployed new organization tools, portfolio pages, and workflows for publishers and studios.
  • Deployed new moderation tools to ensure that AbleToPlay is as accurate and safe as possible.
  • Hundreds more games have been added, with hundreds more undergoing reviews behind the scenes.
  • Adjusted score calculation to be more accurate.
  • Improved the visual styling of dashboard and profile UI.

New features

  • Studios and Publishers now have their own pages, which show their collections of games.
  • Added hundreds of new titles, more than 3X the previous amount of games on-site, spread across all genres.

Updates and fixes

  • Made accessibility-focused content and styling updates to our Homepage.
  • Fixed some minor performance bugs.
  • Updated our Privacy Policy and Terms of Services to include direct links to our contact form, and clarity around our Paid Tester Program.
  • Dozens more games have been added (with dozens more undergoing reviews behind the scenes!)
  • Editing your needs will recalculate your scores for games. If anything doesn't look right, please let us know!

  • The Discovery experience is now much more personalized and ranks games by accessibility.
  • The Discovery experience also now includes a robust search tool! Find any game you are looking for instantly, even if you don't type it perfectly.
  • Added new genres such as Music, Party, Roguelike, and Walking Sim.

Updates and fixes

  • Updated and refined our data taxonomy.
  • Editing your needs and preferences has a new interface.
  • Updated our registration and login system to be much more user-friendly, and to have more helpful error messages.
  • Updated our moderator and game management tools to make it easier and faster to manage game data.
  • Fixed a bug that would prevent some icons from loading.
  • Updated the styling of the user-avatar area in the header navigation to be more clear.
  • Updated the profile to have a dashboard with a summary of your needs and preferences, as well as some V1 areas for soon-to-arrive features.

New features

  • The AbleToPlay Homepage has undergone a massive evolution, and now supports our full signup-system.
    • The homepage features many testimonials from our Beta Testers. To everyone who shared feedback during our Beta, thank you so much!!
  • We published a new AbleToPlay About Page that tells the story of how AbleToPlay came to be, as well as shining some light on who we're working with to bring AbleToPlay to life.
  • We published a new General Contact Page, Business Contact Page, and a Contact Page to Apply To Become A Paid Tester.
  • The Discovery experience now has categories and sub-pages that can be browsed.
  • Games now have a redesigned Personalized Scores area.

  • We've made updates to our data taxonomy to include more Cognitive, Vision, Mobility, Auditory, Trigger, and Other quality-of-life features.
  • Page and image loading has been significantly improved.
  • The new site top-navigation has been updated with more accessible colors, adjusted placement, and other improvements.
  • We made improvements to our back-end systems.
  • When editing your profile, there's some updated descriptions and helper text, and the Save button has been moved to below your profile options.
  • We've made a variety of improvements to the colors and styling of text and buttons.
  • We've received reports of icons sometimes not displaying, and we're tracking down the root cause!

  • New v2 landing page is live! This will evolve over time to feature previews of the different games categories.
  • Discovery page has grown to 20 games, including Hades, Untitled Goose Game, Horizon Zero Dawn, and more.
  • Needs and Preferences data has received some spot-updates.

  • Support Center color values have undergone accessibility review for appropriate color-contrast, and have been adjusted accordingly.

We're kicking off the first week of October with an absolutely packed update.

  • Users can now specify whether something is a Need or a Preference in their Profile.
  • The personalized score algorithm now takes into account Needs and Preferences.
  • Games can now Fully or Partially fulfill a Need or Preference. Games can also explicitly mark certain Need-types as "Not Relevant" to the game; for example, Thalassophobia support in a cozy inside-only cooking game.
  • Developers and Publishers are now listed on all games.
  • Under the hood, AbleToPlay has received a performance tune-up.
  • More games have been added to the Database.
  • The AbleToPlay Support Site has been built.
  • The Accessibility Data itself has received an significant update.
